Pressing In For Healing - a Personal Story

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee. Exodus 15:26

I've written a book and Bible study on divine healing, taught it for years, listened to countless teachings from anointed teachers and preachers and have stood on these Scriptures and truths many times for my own healing and for my family and friends. I have witnessed miraculous, quick recoveries, some that took days, and others longer, but in every case where the believer stood in faith, healing came. At the same time, I have seen several believers throw in the towel because manifestation didn't happen in their time frame. They gave up and caved in to the devil's lies, believing they would never be healed and that it was God's will for them to be sick. I have to admit, I was always a bit judgmental of those people, but now I have more compassion because I recently experienced the same strong temptation to give up and quit.

As a parent, the worse thing imaginable is see your child hurting. The first thing you want to do is make things right. But what about those situations where you have to watch them suffer in pain and aren't able to do one thing about it? Except pray! Recently, my husband and I were in that situation with our youngest child who had to be whisked to the ER not once, but three times, for excruciating, relentless abdominal pain. With no fever, perfect blood and urine tests, and a clean ultrasound, two sets of doctors were stumped as to the cause, diagnosing severe constipation. When the pain worsened and we were forced to go back to the ER this last time, a CT scan was done and the culprit was revealed: a hidden kidney stone!

Now, when your child is writhing in pain and can't be given pain meds because the doctors are 100 percent sure emergency surgery is inevitable for some horrible, off-the-charts diagnosis, and that child is begging for mercy, let me tell you, if you've never been tempted to give up and quit on your faith, then that day has come! The enemy whispers lies to your mind in countless ways, pressuring you to fall to the floor and prepare for the worst! The spirit of fear descends on you in a blanket of darkness and hopelessness threatens to take root in your soul.

Fortunately, the Lord has given us our prayer tongue, so the Spirit is able to pray the perfect prayer needed in these situations. I paced the halls of the ER while my husband held our daughter's hand, trying his best to comfort her. We both prayed in tongues like crazy, quoted Psalms 91, and cried out to Jesus, not caring what anyone thought. Finally, I called Kenneth Copeland ministries and had a sweet lady on the prayer line pray with me. We came into agreement that healing was ours, that the pain would be bound, that the demonic forces would be stilled, and there would be a shalom peace - that we all would enter into the Lord's rest. After that, I heard the Lord tell me to "rise up and stand firm in all I had learned and come to believe." Years of Bible study and revelation came to a boiling point that night - I either believed or I didn't!

A peace came over my husband and me even though our daughter still suffered. Finally, the diagnosis was made and a treatment plan was devised. Our prayers were answered! She was able to receive pain meds for a situation that was easily fixable compared to all the horrible things the doctor had been expecting. We felt like we had won the lottery!

We declared healing and slept peacefully that night. After a quick, noninvasive surgery the next day, we went home and now things are 90% back to normal. Sure, the healing didn't happen instantaneously, but healing was ours. I won't criticise the method or timing! But we had to press in, and hard, with our faith, while our child cried and moaned in pain.

Why did this happen? I do not know. It was certainly an attack of the enemy. Why was the enemy able to attack like that? I don't know. I don't ask. The disciples asked Jesus the same thing about the man born blind - who had sinned, him or his parents? Wrong question. Jesus taught them that focusing on man's sin is not where we should look. Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. John 9:3-4. 

I don't look to why this happened, I look to Jesus. His word to me the next night in my sleep-state was this: I am the God who healeth thee! That's straight from Exodus 15. In my sleep-prayer, I saw myself and my entire family being sprinkled with the blood of Jesus and then covered with the feathers of His wings so that we dwelled in a secret, hidden place. That's straight from Psalms 91, the secret place of the Most High which is the Holy of holies. That's a very good place to be! What can man do unto you if you dwell there? What can the devil do to you there? Sickness, disease, poverty? No-thing! Absolutely NOTHING!

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalms 91:1-2.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! This picture belonged to my mother-in-law and is one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. I have it framed and sitting on a table in our bedroom. 

This is a great day to remember and rejoice in the love we have for and from our sweet spouses and children, but let's not forget about the great love we have been given by Jesus! Because of His great love for us, we through faith in Him are born again as a new creation and now have intimacy with the Heavenly Father. He has put His very spirit inside of us and has given us a precious prayer language and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit. These gifts help us and empower us to be effective and powerful witnesses for The Lord! 

Don't let religion rob you of the revelation of how much you are deeply loved AND how much we haven been given in Christ Jesus!

2014, The Year of Victory over Death

Here is the scripture the Lord gave me for 2014: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 

Now here is what was given to Pastor Joseph Prince: 
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isaiah 60:1-3

And then today I received this prophecy from KCM.org. It is comforting to know that the Lord is telling all His children the same thing. 2014 is going to be a great year of manifestation in many different areas of His blessing. Let's get ready for what He has in store for us!

And I will bring you into a place of holiness, and a place of presence with Me, that will bring you to that spot that you were in just a moment ago—where you don’t know whether you dare speak anymore or not."

So rejoice. You’ve been rich all the time and some of you are just now finding out about it. Ah, but you’re a joint heir. You are a wealthy heir. You already have it—it already belongs to you. Now appropriate it and call for it, and your angels and I,” saith The LORD, “will get it into your hands. Aha, these are the days you’ve been looking for. These are the days you’ve been waiting for. So rejoice. Step out, and step up, and step in. Hallelujah!"

“Ah. What about 2014? 2014 is a marvelous year in the kingdom of God. And as I said earlier,” saith The LORD, “it is The Year of Victory Over Death and the Manifestation of Love. Manifested love, which is Jesus Himself. For I am manifesting Myself in 2014 in ways that I have not done in many, many centuries. I am manifesting Myself in 2014 in ways that I have never done before on this planet. For you see, I have many things in store for this generation that have never been seen before. For it is time for the ingathering of more souls than has ever happened on planet earth before. The time has come, and you’re in it. Hallelujah! You’re in it.”

Merry Christmas! Tis the Season...

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help [cometh] from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD [is] thy keeper: the LORD [is] thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Psalm 121

Isn't this a wonderful Psalm? Look at all the fabulous promises from the Lord embedded in these scriptures--they are chock full of protection, provision, favor, and most importantly, love. Just think, all of this has been made available to us because of the Lord Jesus Christ and what He did for us on the cross. He left His place of glory with the heavenly Father and came down to earth in the form of a sinful man even though He never sinned. He was born as a baby and grew up like a normal Jewish boy, growing in favor with God and man. There was nothing spectacular about Him that would make anyone think He was Messiah - even His own parents couldn't imagine why, as a twelve-year-old boy, He would stay behind in Jerusalem after the Passover and debate scripture with the scribes and Pharisees. Prophets prohesized over Him as a baby, the angels heralded His birth, the wise men traveled far to pay Him homage, even King Herod sought to kill Him, but none of them really understood the purpose of His birth. The Bible says Mary pondered many of these things in her heart, but she couldn't discern their meaning, because they were spiritual truths that required revelation from the Holy Spirit.

And yet He was born, so that He could die and set all of us free from the bondage of the Law, sin, and death! Isaiah 9:6 says, For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. The heavenly Father GAVE Him to us as our savior, our wonderful counselor, our God who brings us into the Father's presence -- the one who brings us shalom peace -- meaning nothing missing or broken in our lives. Yes, His resurrection from the dead is essential and powerful, but His incarnation as the baby Jesus is an important day as well. It shouldn't be overlooked as a day to rejoice! He came and He will come again!

Keep Looking at the Birds...

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Matthew 6:26. 

Look at this beautiful cardinal - red as blood, wearing a high crown on his head, sitting fat and happy, not the least bit worried, even though it is cold and icy outside. And look at the abundant berries surrounding him - he has an excess of food available. 

Jesus tells us to look at the birds! They don't worry or work for their food, yet every day the Heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you more precious to God than birds? This beautiful picture is a reminder that nature preaches the Gospel message to us every day, whether we realize it or not. All things point to Jesus!

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  John 1:3
